Hi, I'm Taylor and I'm a writer, actor, and comedian, born and bred in KC, MO, now living in NYC.
I’m currently a writer for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
My first humor book, A GUIDE TO MIDWESTERN CONVERSATION is available RIGHT NOW! You can order it here. Jeez Louise! Thanks!
My work has been published in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, The Atlantic, Reductress, SELF.com and Greatist. Together with my husband (brag!), Felipe Torres Medina, I created and host the immigration-inspired comedy trivia game show Citizenship LIVE! every month at Caveat NYC.
I’m also the Taylor part of the Musical Comedy Duo Dylan Taylor, and our first EP, The Love Songs, is available now!
Previously, I’ve written for Night Late at the UCB theatre and performed two original comedy shows at the Kansas City Fringe Festival. Back when people could congregate in enclosed spaces, me and my writing group A Great Week for Women hosted a monthly show of comedy readings in NYC. Also, one time I got interviewed by The Kansas City Star because of a viral tweet thread I wrote about the 2004-2007 KC Royals promotion where if the Royals got a dozen hits, every ticket holder would get a dozen donuts for free. I have been chasing the high of those summers ever since.
Ask me about my high school basketball career.
